Baked is a celebration of what happens when good food begins in good soil, and is shaped by the spirited community of Ojai, California. Born in the kitchens and ovens of the Farmer and the Cook restaurant, this book gathers the recipes belonging to the dozen bakers who show up day after day for early mornings, flour-dusted wooden counters, and the steady rhythm of the season.

Inside, you'll find their collection of breads, pastries, and everyday staples — many of them vegan and gluten-free — meant to grace the important moments of life and be passed along to the people you love. Paired with these recipes are intimate portraits of the bakers, offering a glimpse into their personal histories and experiences.

This is baking rooted in place, guided by craft, and sustained by the simple joy of sharing.

Baked is organized around the people who make it possible — twelve bakers, each introduced with a personal portrait and followed by the recipes they bring to the table. Between the bakers, you'll find three reflective chapters woven through the book: The Restaurant, The Farm, and Community — essays that ground the recipes in the place that made them.

Inside you'll find breads and pastries, cookies and cakes, pies and pizzas, muffins and bars — many vegan, many gluten-free, all organic.
