Steve Sprinkel's books are an ongoing series — part poetry, part field notes, part the kind of writing that happens when a farmer who attended Harvard for one year, speaks Spanish, and has composed newsletters and poems in rooms full of moldy seed boxes decides to put it all down on paper.
Each edition wanders through a different territory: endemic bumblebees surveyed by rail across Japan, the crusade of galaxies, and the quiet observations that accumulate over a life spent growing food in the Ojai Valley. The writing is literate, eccentric, and deeply rooted — like the farm itself.
Thirteen editions so far, each one paperback, between 40 and 120 pages, and entirely Steve.
I attended Harvard College for only one year due to my innate curiosity.
